BlackRock, the colossal asset management company, has shocked the cryptocurrency world by buying a total of 12.600 Bitcoins, worth approximately $842 million. The move put BlackRock in first place in terms of companies they own Bitcoin, surpassing even Michael Saylor's MicroStrategy.
According to a recent post HODL15Capital , BlackRock's spot Bitcoins have outperformed MicroStrategy's BTC portfolio owned by Michael saylor.
Data from Arkham Intelligence revealed that BlackRock achieved its highest single day inflow ever.
With the addition of 12.600 BTC worth $842 million to its portfolio, BlackRock's Bitcoin holdings have reached 183.300 BTC worth $12,3 billion.
However, according to the chart provided by HODL15Capital, η BlackRock has a total of 196.089 BTC, while MicroStrategy holds 193.000 BTC.
BlackRock's purchase of Bitcoin comes at a time when the cryptocurrency market is on the rise. Bitcoin has hit new all-time highs and the market as a whole is showing strong optimism. BlackRock's entry into the market only adds to that optimism and may lead to an even bigger rally.
